Not quite what you see in the picture...
This is a really nice all-cotton quilted bedspread. The color in the photo is a bit richer than what you actually get. In the picture, at first glance, you are under the impression that these are deep lilac-blue squares surrounded by black stripes. Not so. Be sure to use the zoom feature and pan onto the top of the bed to get a better idea of the color variations. You will see that this is in fact a true plaid effect with three color variations, not two. Also, subtract some of the extra rich purplish hue of the blue and that will put you closer to the true color you will be getting. It's more of a true royal blue than the color projected by their photo. In addition, it's not quite as heavy as you might think from the photo, but it still has a good weight and feel to it.
However, my real issue is that the pattern in the illustration looks like the squares would be approximately 4x4 inches, but they're not. They are actually 1.75 x 1.75 inch squares.

Expected a bit thicker, but otherwise fine.
Unlike the other reviewer, I bought the red plaid and the colors are vibrant as shown in the picture. I expected that the quilt would be a bit thicker for this price, but it appears that it will be sufficiently warm for cool nights. Anything colder and I will use my down comforter.
Way Too Thin For Idaho Winters
I have seen this quilt advertised on many websites and the quilt had high reviews on each site. Therefore, I decided to go ahead and buy one for my king sized bed. When it arrived I was pretty disappointed. From the reviews that I read the customers were stating how warm, cozy and soft etc.. the quilt was. Not so, it has to be the thinnest quilt I have ever seen in my life and the material is not soft (granted it hasn't been washed yet either). It feels like there is no filling in the quilt (even though it says the filling is cotton), the top is made out of cotton and the bottom is made out of polyester. I gave this item three stars because I liked the coloring and I thought they did a good job on the stitching. I will be going back to the previous brand of quilts that I was using before I made this purchase. I would not recommend this quilt to anyone that lives in a cold climate area.
